Salsa for Kids

Salsa makes me feel free of the world. Through dance, I show and express that life is beautiful and worth living. I want the children to stay active and healthy. - Ms. Ines A great way to foster culture and language! Salsa is one of the most dynamic types of music of the 1900s. In Hispanic communities, it is still the most popular style of dance music. The roots of Salsa originated in eastern Cuba with the Son and the Afro-Cuban Rumba. Spanish and Afro-Cuban musical elements were combined, both in terms of rhythm and instruments used. In the Lehigh Valley, Ines Maldonado promotes the love of Salsa to students of all ages. Our Center and this excellent instructor have come together to facilitate cultural summer workshops for children ages 6 to 12 years old. Classes will be offered on Saturdays and we are very excited to welcome children with this cultural experience.
